Gentleman's Club Guide
by John P. Frenville

Softcover, 1st ed., 240pp.  ISSN: 1088-0062 GCG, Inc.

There are certainly tons of resources on the Internet about Gentlemen's Clubs, but most are written by visitors to the site without any editorial control or standards. These resources are also not that portable. With the printed dining guides covering upscale restaurants in mind, John P. Frenville created the Gentlemen's Club Guide. This pocket sized guide measures 4 1/2" x 7 1/2", and contains listings of clubs across the U.S., along with a few exceptional clubs outside our borders.

It covers upscale topless clubs, nude clubs, and gentlemen's clubs. It is nicely laid out, with key information at the top of each listing. This includes hours, cover charge, drink cost, food information (some clubs actually have excellent menus), location, and even parking info. There are 14 symbols, with appropriate ones at the top of each review to indicate the type of club (topless, nude, bikini), whether they serve alcohol or food, if they are 10 minutes from a major airport, if they are couple friendly, and other useful information.  Each club is also rated from 1 to 10 in four categories: Dancers, Club Atmosphere, Value, and Overall.

Admittedly, you won't find any low ratings in their ratings section. They only include the best clubs. Personally, I'd rather not carry around a huge guide that includes every single club out there, even if that were possible. I only want to know about the best, as the worst can be downright scary. I applaud their being very selective.

The reviews themselves are informative, and point out the unique features of the clubs. Some have swimming pools where you can swim with the topless entertainers. Other clubs offer fine dining rivaling the best of the local restaurants. This type of info is very helpful in making your selections. Based on the clubs they review that I am familiar with, I found them to be very on target.

There are summaries for each city covered, which gives you an overview of the state of clubs in that area. It also includes several brief articles on topics such as tipping and general behaviour in clubs. As an additional bonus, you also get 8 coupons you can use at any of the participating clubs, which will get you free admission, or in some cases, free or 2 for 1 drinks. You only need to use a couple of the coupons before the Guide pays for itself.

Gentlemen's Clubs have really taken off in the last few years, with some superlative clubs across the country. If you travel, and you enjoy hitting the best of the local clubs, this pocket guide will be an excellent investment.

The publisher also has a companion Web site with lots of interesting content. You can buy the guide directly from the site, and if you do, let them know you are an SexinReview.com reader. They'll include bonus coupons.
