The general approach is fun, playful, and very sex positive. We found the information to be very accurate and up to date (something woefully not true with many sex books), and presented in a fun and informative style. Each chapter is broken down into small bite sized sections, so it is very easy to read and digest. The information is presented very playfully, such as in the Dick game in the section on male anatomy. You try to match illustrations of penises in both their hard and soft state, which very clearly illustrates how much penises vary. It covers a wide range of topics, from talking to kids about sex to sexual kinks. Chapters include Sex Fluids, Hand Jobs: Different Strokes for Different Blokes, Doing Yourself in Your Partner's Presence, Massage, The Ultimate Tenderness, Horizontal Jogging (Intercourse), Up Your Bum--Anal Sex, Playing with Yourself, Oscillator, Generator, Vibrator, Dildo, Basic Brain Weirdness & the Mind-Body Interface, Sex & Sects, Culture & Kink, Techno Breasts & Weenie Angst, Dyslexia of the Penis--Improving Your Sexual Hang, Sex Laws, and a whole lot more. Never preachy, always upbeat, and darned entertaining, it covers all of the basics, and a lot of important territory that many other books skip over. Along with The Good Vibrations Guide to Sex, we'd recommend this as a must read even for the sexually jaded who feel they know it all already. If you know someone going off to college, make sure this gets packed in their luggage. -JB
