This large format 64 page paperbound book is an expanded version of the earlier Clitoral Kiss. It includes lots of sensual but not explicit full color photographs and illustrations, which act more as inspiration than to provide direction. This is more a sensual than a sexually explicit book. The author points out that as of the writing in 2001, oral sex is illegal in 18 states, Puerto Rico, and for those in the military. He includes a great quote from John Stuart Mill: “The only purpose for which power can be exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others. His own good, either physical or moral, is not sufficient warrant… Over himself, his own mind and body, the individual is sovereign”. We couldn’t agree more. The first part of the book
deals with general guidelines and tips, including such things as a recipe
for a Sex Shake that is supposed to improve the taste of semen. There are
some general “secrets”, such as the importance of lubrication and the value
of suction. He briefly covers health and safe sex issues, but since that
is a topic outside the main focus of the book and where our knowledge of
safer sex changes over time, he wisely points people to get the latest
info from the PlannedParenthood.org site.
The subject of using condoms
and latex barriers for oral sex is controversial, and the Planned Parenthood
site does state that oral sex is a lower risk activity, although other
areas of the site seem to suggest otherwise. In reality, very few people
use barrier protection for oral sex. While diseases can be spread this
way, you are statistically at much lower odds, especially for HIV, and
barrier protection makes oral sex a whole lot less fun for most people.
Personally, if you are concerned about getting a disease from a partner
through oral sex, perhaps you should not be having sex with them at all.
One thing he does not mention that I feel is important is that if you are
sexually active, getting a regular checkup is important. Most STD’s are
not that big a deal if you get them treated promptly. Section Two includes 18 ways to pleasure a lover orally. These are not limited to the genitals, and the author provides tips and suggestions for using the various oral strokes on many parts of the body. Section three includes techniques from ancient sex manuals, including the Kama Sutra, Ananga-Ranga, and some tips from ancient Chinese literature. He also includes some naughty passages from the Bible, which demonstrates that oral sex is neither new nor was it that much of a taboo in the past. Ancient erotic drawings from all cultures depict oral sex as a normal part of sex play. This book is not a specific sex manual of elaborate oral sex techniques, but does provide enough playful ideas for you to use in your sexual explorations. Lavishly illustrated with beautiful drawings and photographs, this would be a good introduction for anyone interested in exploring the sensual nature of oral stimulation.
